The lab after an end-of-semester painting party!

We are always interested in recruiting curious, enthusiastic neuroscientists to our team. Candidates for post-doctoral, doctoral, or undergraduate research positions should contact Dr. Shansky as instructed below.

Postdoctoral Research Scientists

If you anticipate completing PhD work in 2024 or later and are interested in joining our lab, please submit a CV, a description of past and future research interests, and the names and contact information for at least three references to r.shansky [at] northeastern.edu. Describe why you are excited by our research and how you will contribute to our ongoing research program. Our lab is committed to maintaining a diverse and inclusive environment, and candidates from underrepresented backgrounds are especially encouraged to apply.

Technicians

Organized, creative problem solvers with at least one year of experience in a rodent neuroscience lab will be especially competitive. Email CV to Dr. Shansky r.shansky [at] northeastern.edu.

Graduate Students

Providing mentorship and training for graduate students is a top priority of the lab, and we seek students interested in conducting interdisciplinary behavioral neuroscience research.  Prospective students should apply to the Ph.D. program through the Northeastern University Department of Psychology, and are encouraged to email Dr. Shansky at r.shansky[at]northeastern.edu with any questions about the program or the lab.

Undergraduate Researchers

We accept undergraduate students from the BNS, Psychology, Biology, and Engineering majors who seek to further their understanding of neuroscience and gain valuable lab experience. Students may join the lab as a directed study, work study, co-op, or volunteer. Interested students can email r.shansky[at]northeastern.edu to set up a meeting with Dr. Shansky. We prefer students currently in their 2nd or 3rd year. We are currently full for Fall ‘24.
